What steps to follow to become part of this platform
Are you a tourist destination and want to join the PID?
We will assess your case and propose a personalised plan. Follow these instructions to become part of the largest digital ecosystem for destinations:
- Municipalities, Associations of Municipalities, and Districts.
- Provincial Councils, Island Councils, and Autonomous Communities.
- Other tourist destinations that want to move towards a smart tourism management model.
To participate in the Smart Destinations Platform, you must be a member of the Smart Tourist Destination Network (STD) or the SICTED programme.
However, if your destination is not yet part of these initiatives, you can still initiate contact to join the PID. SEGITTUR will help you understand both models and define the most suitable path for joining the platform.
Moreover, by joining the PID, you will already be largely fulfilling the requirements for integration into the STD Network or SICTED.

Once your incorporation has been approved:
Personalised assessment
We analyse the destination's situation and develop a roadmap based on your needs. We will ask you for information such as population, type of destination (urban, rural, inland, etc.), digital services you already use, and the tourism governance model you apply.
Preparing tourist information
The first step will be to gather and structure the destination information (resources, services, events, etc.) that you may have published on websites, in databases, etc. This information will be integrated into the PID's semantic content management system, following a common model and language designed for the platform.
Don't worry: we will advise you in this process, adapting it to your technological situation. And if you already have your own CMS, web portal, apps or other digital solutions, we will show you how to make everything interoperable with the PID.
Adapted digitisation plan
You will receive a roadmap with phases and recommendations on which PID services would be most suitable for your strategic objectives.
Progressive configuration of modules
You will start using the more than 20 digital solutions (modules) available on the PID, activating them according to your plan. Most require initial setup.
Being part of the PID means you're not alone
SUPPORT: a team of expert advisors in tourism, digitalisation and technology will guide you in personalised online or in-person sessions. We'll answer your questions and show you how to configure each module.
TRAINING: you'll have access to training materials designed to facilitate your learning: downloadable guides and video tutorials to master the platform and each digital solution.
ONGOING SUPPORT: once you are using the PID, the Unified Operations Centre (UOC) will manage your requests and day-to-day issues.

Convince your destination
Although the tourist destination manages the PID membership, your role can be crucial. If your destination isn't yet a member, you can encourage them to join and share the benefits this platform offers to both managers and businesses.
Apply for membership as a business
Once your destination is a member, you can apply for membership through its Professional Portal, which brings together all the businesses in the area. From there, the destination will validate your application, and you'll gain access to tools such as the Professional App, the Digital Maturity Index, and more.
Enjoy various benefits
Your products and activities can be recommended by the destination through promotional channels: website, app that showcases the offer of all PID destinations, virtual assistant, and more. And that's not all: you'll have access to key data on the performance of your services.
